She is a secondary English education major at Penn State, and intends on going on to teach English at her former high school. Many Americans were upset about how little education was talked about in this election; education is crucial, as it shapes our future as a nation and society. Not only that, but a large subset of eligible voters go to public colleges and universities; they are affected by education policy in their day-to-day lives. Education policy is much more than just issues of standards and how they should be tested. Education policy deals with a large number of civil rights issues, including access to education, sexual assault prevention, and preventing racial and ethnic discrimination. Why do you think these issues weren’t discussed prominently in this election cycle? What do you think should be done to raise awareness for these issues?
