Sexual assault on college campuses is a serious problem. Statistics show that one in five women experience a sexual assault in their lifetime. Many of these assaults occur on college campuses. In fact, many college campuses report that more than one in five female students have been sexually assaulted during their time on campus. On some campuses, that number is higher than one in four students. This is a multi-faceted issue, but campus culture is a large part of it. On campuses across the nation, we need to make it clear that we will not stand for sexual assault. Making a change both in having more bystanders learn prevention techniques, and having a more open environment for sexual assault survivors to come forward, will make for a better college experience for all students. How would you promote bystander intervention?
